Prepping Your Skin Every A.m.

Showing your skin some love every morning is beautifying and therapeutic. Not only will you look great, you will also feel great knowing that you’ve practiced self-care before facing the day.

Follow these steps before you face the world each day.

Step 1: Use an oil-based cleanser

First, wipe off the residues from the skincare products you used overnight. A cleansing oil is the best product for this because it removes dirt and product build-up and also makes your skin softer.

Apply a small amount of the cleanser on your face in a circular motion. Rinse it off with warm water. Do not wipe your face dry.

Step 2: Double cleanse

Gently massage your face with a water-based cleanser with low pH, then wash it off with lukewarm water. Dry your face by patting it with a clean towel.

Step 3: Tone

The purpose of using a toner is to shrink your pores and make your skin’s pH level balance. It also helps in regulating the oil produced by your skin. Dab a few drops of the toner on a cotton pad and spread it on your cheeks, nose, and chin, and forehead. Let your skin to absorb the toner.

Step 4: Use a serum

If there’s a specific skincare concern you want to target like acne marks or signs of aging, a serum is what you need. Rub a few drops of serum between your palms to make it warm. Apply the serum on your nose first before the other parts of your face. Wait for your skin to absorb the product.

Step 5:  Moisturize properly

Choose a moisturizer according to your skin type. The product will lock the moisture into your skin and prevent it from drying. Apply a few blobs of the moisturizer by gently tapping it on your face and neck. Massage the moisturizer into your skin until the product is fully absorbed.

Step 6: Apply sunscreen

Sunscreen protects you from the sun’s harmful effects on the skin, like wrinkles, dark spots, and fine lines. Get one with at least SPF 30. Apply it evenly on your skin.

Step 7: Put on eye cream

Your under-eye is the thinnest part of your face that’s why it needs a cream specially made for this area. An eye cream can target concerns such as puffiness and wrinkles.

Step 8: Use a primer

Before applying a foundation or BB cream, spread primer evenly on your face. This will make your make-up last longer.

Following these steps will not only be therapeutic for you as you prepare for your day, but it will also improve your skin condition a lot.
